Do you remember the game “Harvest Moon“? The story in this game reminds me of the struggles of young men and women in Rantedoda Village, Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi.
Since 2018, the Field School (Sekolah Lapang) practices resulting from the collaboration between HuMa, INSIST, and the Customary Forest Coalition held in several locations have begun to benefit the community. One of them is the community in Rantedoda Village, Tapalang District. The Field School not only teaches data collection, both social and spatial, which will be used for spatial advocacy, but also provides learning related to organic farming and agricultural system development for the youth of Karang Taruna.
Why involve Karang Taruna? Because, currently, the youth organization (Karang Taruna) has started to fade in its activity in supporting the older generation at the village and sub-district levels. However, the spirit of learning and growth from the young men and women of Rantedoda Village is very high, even serious in increasing knowledge and building an economic foundation through agriculture.
