He was commonly called “Bang Hedar” or “Hedar.” In a conversation with a friend, he once said that when death comes, it would be while he was at work. It turned out to be a request that was ultimately fulfilled. At the end of a workshop preparing for agrarian action research in Bogor, Bang Hedar took his last breath due to a sudden heart attack. It was on Saturday, July 7, 2012. The hospital declared the time of death at 21:40 WIB.

Not only Perkumpulan HuMa felt the loss, but also the social transformation movement and the indigenous people’s legal community unity movement mourned deeply.
