Covid-19, is a zoonotic disease that originated from the uncontrolled spread of the Coronavirus. The development of zoonosis is inseparable from the disturbance of habitats of several species. Ecological landscape changes caused by extractive activities such as mining, plantations, monoculture agriculture, and so on, also accelerate ecosystem damage. This has a significant impact on the sustainability of species. Therefore, when the Covid-19 pandemic occurs, it is important to reflect on the actions of environmental destruction that have been happening. Indonesia, which has high biodiversity, is certainly crucial in leading this contemplation process and its concrete actions.
The Covid-19 pandemic also implicates issues related to the fulfillment of civil, political, socio-economic, and cultural rights. One of them is the right to food. Inherent in this is agriculture, land, and culture. Therefore, issues of land ownership and utilization, environmental protection, and the traditional rights of indigenous communities are intertwined within it.
