HuMa Finalizes Internal Administrative System and Discusses Development of People’s Legal Aid Portal (PHR)

Yogyakarta, June 2025 – HuMa reaffirmed its commitment to digital transformation through the implementation of the event ““Finalization of Institutional Internal Administration System and Development of People’s Legal Aid Portal (PHR)”, which took place on June 1-4, 2025 in Yogyakarta.

This activity is an important part of HuMa’s institutional strengthening efforts, especially in improving digital-based internal administrative systems and developing the direction of the People’s Legal Aid Portal (PHR). During the two days of the event, this meeting was attended by HuMa’s implementing body consisting of all internal elements of HuMa, including; Executive Director, Finance Team, and all Divisions within HuMa to conduct simulations of the completed BSD system, align understanding, and strategic agreements related to the development scheme of the People’s Legal Aid Portal as a digital platform integrated with the needs of People’s Legal Aid (PHR).

In intensive discussion sessions, the HuMa implementing body agreed on three main objectives of this activity, namely:

  1. Finalize the internal institutional administration system of HuMa to be functionally ready for use.
  2. Build a shared understanding (simulation) regarding the procedures for using digital administrative systems.
  3. Jointly develop the scheme for the development of the PHR Portal as a digital platform integrated with the needs of people’s legal aid.

This activity also serves as a reflection space on the long process of digital transformation that HuMa has been undertaking since its inception. Starting from the digital library system, HuMa Win conflict data tools, SANGO accounting application, to the launch of the internal communication application APSS in 2018, HuMa continues to adapt to technological advancements to enhance the effectiveness of advocacy work, campaigns, and community-based legal education.

The People’s Legal Aid Portal (PHR) itself is designed as a tool to support the organizational work and legal reform efforts carried out by change actors at the community level, commonly known as People’s Legal Aid (PHR), which in practice has been developed through critical legal education (PHK), Field Schools (SL) and People’s Legal Aid Schools (SPHR) approaches. This digital platform is expected to strengthen the social movement ecosystem for legal reforms that are pro-people.

With the completion of this activity, HuMa positions this digital-based system as an urgent necessity for the organization to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in institutional governance in the future. HuMa hopes that the digital-based internal administrative system can be activated promptly, and support more efficient institutional governance, as well as the development of the PHR Portal to be completed promptly according to the agreed scheme. *
